We had an amazing weekend stay at Voortrekker, the accommodation, facilities and spa area are incredible. And the views from the property are outstanding.Niki and Piet are wonderful hosts, they could not have been any more accommodating.We will definitely be booking another stay in the future.

Delightfully quirky and immaculate accommodation in a unique location. A great base to explore the south Mainland from. We stayed in the Soothpunds apt and were captivated by the northeast view from our dining table. Walking down from the property to walk along the coastline was well worth it too.

Amazing, spacious accommodation with everything you could possibly wish for, extremely well thought out and practical, spectacular views from our bedroom and from the wonderful spa area, fantastic location for visiting South Mainland, but easy access to anywhere on Shetland. Niki and Piet have created a beautiful haven in their Mogill apartment. Nothing was too much trouble for them and with the added bonus of the sauna and hot tub, this turned into one of the best holidays we have experienced. We were able to relax and sit and watch the animals (including Tom and Jerry the goats) and birds and look out over the cliffs and sea.We were a little concerned when we booked that we were too far down South, but we needn't have worried. With great roads and connections the Voortrekker apartments are a lovely base to discover Shetland. Mogill apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything you need as well as being spotless. The robes, provided for the hot tub and sauna are a lovely touch.This was more than a holiday, this took us down a notch or two in the pace of our life at a time when we really needed it.Thankyou Niki and Piet x

We have just had an amazing week at Niki and Piet's place. We were made so welcome and they are so friendly and helpful. The hot tub and sauna is fantastic and really made the holiday. There is so much to do locally and we are busily trying to find a way to get back as soon as possible!

We received the warmest welcome from Niki and Piet to their beautiful home in a secluded but convenient location. They were friendly, helpful and generous throughout our stay. Always there if we needed, but never intrusive.The Mogill apartment, though small, had absolutely everything we needed, with very clever use of space. It is all furnished and equipped to a high standard, with a very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. We particularly enjoyed just sitting on the comfy sofa on the long sunny evenings, taking in the wonderful countryside and seaview. We were lucky enough to see Shetland at its best with continuous sunshine. However the underfloor heating in the apartment was a definite bonus to come back to each evening after a long day's sightseeing . Then of course there was the hot tub where we could relax and again enjoy the views.We had a wonderful 5 nights. Thank you Niki and Piet!

This is not a holiday flat, this is a home. Niki and Piet made us feel absolutely welcome and in good hands. They helped us so heart-warmingly with so many things!The rooms are practical, spacious and furnished with great attention to detail. Everything here is soo great! The bed is relaxing, there's enough space to move around, there's enough space in the shower and there's enough space to store everything. The kitchen outfitting is perfect, you have everything you might need for cooking. On top the whole interior design fits perfectly together.And even on top of that, Niki and Piet are the most wonderful hosts that you can have, so kind and heartwarming! A very special thanks to them for the lovely caring for my girlfriend after she broke her ankle down the hill!And yes the sauna and hot tub are great too. The landscape is beautiful, it's quiet and morning's sunrise viewed through the window is lovely!

I had a wonderful stay at Niki and Piet’s! The apartment is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you need. However, the best thing is probably the view from the living room which is stunning, as you look out over the cliffs and sea. If there wasn’t so much to see and do on the islands I probably would have just sit there. Although I haven’t been up north, I feel confident to say that Levenwick is probably one of the best places to stay on the islands. There’s great walks you can do and the beautiful Levenwick beach is just around the corner. I also want to mention that Niki is a very warm and welcoming host! Thank you Niki and Piet, I hope to be back soon.

Excellent accommodation, very clean, arranged with taste, Nikkie has thought of everything you might need during your stay, all is provided.The hot tube is cool after a day out..Owners are so adorable, making you feel so comfortable, sharing tips on the isle…And what about the view?… Gorgeous!In short, all you have to do is to enjoy your holidays and take it easy…Thanks for everything, your super appartment was part of the success of my holidays for sure!

Excellent place to choose to enjoy Shetland. First rate accommodation which has been very nicely thought out and equipped to make our stay extremely comfortable and homely. Niki made us feel most welcome, and was able to guide us through all we asked. The location is lovely and provided good options for us to drive around the mainland. The sauna and hot- tub are an added bonus. Thoroughly recommended.

We highly recommend staying at Voortrekker. This was our second visit and we're planning a third. We stayed in Soothpunds apartment. It's beautifully and thoughtfully furnished and equipped. We wanted for nothing. There's also a great sauna and spa for the exclusive use of clients. Nikki and Piet are attentive but not intrusive hosts. We spent 8 nights at Voortrekker in Quinni Geo with another couple who stayed in Soothpunds - the perfect arrangement, which gave us all the benefits of staying together whilst allowing each of us our personal space. Voortrekker is ideally situated in the south of the mainland, close to the majority of the places that we wanted to visit and 25 minutes from Lerwick. The views are stunning and the peace and quiet absolutely wonderful. The apartment itself is of a very high standard - bright, airy, modern and equipped with everything you could possibly want plus some thoughtful extras such as Tupperware for packed lunches, herbs, spices, condiments etc, a torch, maps, guides and literature. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept much better than we normally do at home (although that could also have had something to do with all the fresh air and exercise we were getting). Blackout blinds and curtains were effective against the short June nights. The balcony was equipped with a table and chairs and provision for a barbecue to be set up, which we did one evening (thanks Piet!). The jacuzzi and sauna are a lovely relaxing end to a busy, and sometimes a bit cold and wet, day, and the view from the jacuzzi is fabulous. We just let Niki know which time slot we wanted and it was all set up and running for us when we returned. Dressing gowns and slippers are provided in the apartments for use in the spa. Finally, I can't praise Niki and Piet highly enough for their wonderful hospitality and help. They have created fabulous holiday accommodation here which I would highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to Shetland. Thank you both, I hope we will return sometime.

We absolutely loved our stay at Voortrekker.Niki and Piet are great people, very friendly and easy to talk to while at the same time giving you all the privacy you want.The accommodation was excellent, well finished and very clean with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The views are as amazing as you expect and get in Shetland. We couldn't speak highly enough of it.The Spa area is as well finished and is as clean as the rest of the accommodation. We absolutely loved it and fully enjoyed rhe relaxing experience.An excellent place run by nice people.We will definitely be back.
